European Biotech Week 2020

Monday, 24 August 2020 05:08

Within the framework of the European Biotech Week 2020, EuropaBio (the European Association for Bioindustries) has launched the #BiotechFan Photo Contest, a competition aiming to engage with all European citizens, by raising awareness and making biotech accessible to local communities, and by showing concrete examples to explain how biotech surrounds and supports us in everyday life, also in light of the recent COVID-19 pandemic.

Inaugurated in 2013, the European Biotech Week celebrates biotechnology: an innovative and vibrant sector launched by the discovery of the DNA molecule back in 1953, and this year EuropaBio has the pleasure to invite YOU to collaborate to the success of the European Biotech Week 2020 (September 28 - October 4)!

How to enter the #BiotechFan Photo Contest

Any EU citizen and permanent EU resident above the age of 18 is eligible to enter. Participants may enter the competition by submitting their entries via entry form on the Biotech Week website. Each entry must be accompanied by a short description containing the name of the author, the place where the photo was taken and how it relates to the #BenefitsOfBiotech. Each participant can submit a maximum of two entries, and two winners will be selected in each category of Health and Sustainability: the prize for each category is 500€!

How to join the #EuropeanBiotechWeek

The European Biotech Week comprises a weeklong series of events, and you can join it either by partaking in, or organizing an event, any time from 28 September – 04 October, 2020. You can directly submit an event on our website or contact the European Biotech Week coordinators. Take a look at previous events for inspiration!

EuropaBio would be glad to have YOU onboard for this adventure, and it would be great if you could support us by participating in the contest, joining/hosting an event or just spreading the word!
